RECLAIMING OUR SEAT

OUR MISSION

Our mission sits at the intersection of identity, tradition, and weaving our multifaceted experience to the American culture. SEAT amplifies the voices of third culture kids through mixed-media storytelling that features Southeast Asian American (SEAA) youth, women and LGBTQ+ communities to reclaim our SEAT. Rewriting our brave new endings.

THIRD CULTURE

[DEFINITION] are people raised in a culture other than their parents' or the culture of the country named on their passport (where they are legally considered native) for a significant part of their early development years. They are often exposed to a greater variety of cultural influences.

We're striving always for external validation because of our background & because of our kind of sense of loss identity and do we belong? Are we good enough? You are enough. I want to say you are enough and I want to praise you for being and existing. And that is enough.
